Sail a half circle along the north coast of Santa Cruz and see three islands in a single day. From the Itabaca Channel you head out to Daphne Major and Pinzón Island, then land on a north-coast beach such as Bahía Borrero or Playa El Edén. All aboard a boat that carries no more than 12 people.
Above all, this is a day of snorkeling in crystal-clear water, among schools of tropical fish, sea turtles, sea lions, whitetip reef sharks, starfish and marine iguanas; from August to November, rays are often seen around Daphne. From the boat and on the beach you can photograph blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds and pelicans.
A naturalist guide is with you all day. Lunch is ceviche, with a vegetarian or vegan option, and on board you'll find fruit, snacks, cold or hot drinks and towels. You also take home the day's photos and videos at no extra cost. The route and stops may vary with sea conditions.
